13th Annual Sunscreen Film Festival Accepting Films

(St. Petersburg, FL) November 15, 2017 – The open submission period for filmmakers to submit their films to the 13th Annual Sunscreen Film Fest is now open. Over the years Sunscreen has developed a reputation for high quality independent films, outstanding workshops, panels and dynamic parties and events at beautiful locations in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Filmmakers from around the world submit their films and attend Sunscreen each year.

The star studded Sunscreen Film Festival has featured such celebrity guests as John Travolta, Dylan McDermott, Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy), Kelly Preston, Patrick Warburton, Gary Busey, Paul Sorvino, Joe Morton (Termintaor 2, Scandal), Billy Dee Williams, Ed Asner, Patrick Wilson(The Conjouring, Aquaman), Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, Days of Thunder), Joe Panotoliano, Robert Davi, Daphne Zuniga, Alexa Vega (Spy Kids 1-3), Samaire Armstrong, Michael Raymond James (Once Upon A Time), Timothy Omundson, Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice), Esai Morales (La Bamba, Criminal Minds), Bill Duke (Predator), Kirstie Alley, Ethan Supllee, and many more!.

In 2008, Sunscreen offered its first guaranteed Distribution Prize in conjunction with York Entertainment. Since then Sunscreen has had distribution and acquisitions executives actively looking for films at every festival. (Showtime, Lionsgate, Indican Pictures, etc.)

The 13th Annual Sunscreen Film Festival takes place April 26-29, 2018 in downtown St. Petersburg. The 12th fest in 2017 featured over 120 films, 14 workshops, numerous parties, celebrities, locals and filmmakers from around the world. The weekend included soon to be released feature films, documentaries, animation, short films and more by filmmakers from across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Awards will be given out for Best Short Film, Best Florida Film, Best Documentary (short or feature), Best Webseries, Best Feature Film, Best Foreign Language Film (short or feature), Best Animated Film (short or feature), Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Student Film, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Audience award, Lifetime Achievement Award.
